Kangwa Mundende / Composer, Librettist
Composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist Kangwa Mundende writes music that underscores the human experience; creating sonic frequencies that bypass internal cacophony and transform into a space for healing. In April of 2021, Kangwa’s piece Exodus was premiered by Dr. Brian Lamb and the UCO Wind Symphony. Kangwa is currently composing and developing The Burning, an opera about the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921. He attended the University of Central Oklahoma where he studied music composition with Dr. Samuel Magrill and classical and jazz bass with Dr. Michael T. Geib.
